Discussion of the storiesDate: 2015-10-07; view: 463. 1. Try to remember and say a few words where each story took place. 2. Describe each picture in the book by saying who the people are were they are and what they are doing. 3. Say a few words about the following characters: Lord Glenfallen, Strickland, Mrs. Stone. What were they like at the beginning and the end of the stories? 3. Which of the three stories did you like best? Write down at least three reasons for your choice and share your views with your groupmates. Decide which the most favourite story was. Which story would make the most successful film? Why? 4. Write the beginning of your own ghost story using the active vocabulary of the three assignments. Remember that atmosphere and setting are very important to writing a good ghost story. Empty train stations, old hospitals, old houses, and bus terminals in the middle of the night are examples of great atmospheric locations. Present it to your group mates. 5. Choose the best beginning and make up a friendly ghost story together giving details one by one. The basic structure of any story can be broken into three parts: the catalyst (what spurs the main character into action at the beginning of the story), the main conflict of the story, and the resolution or ending. 6. If your story really gives a fun thrill and has a bit of humour, you can make a poster with it and hang it out before Halloween for other students of your department to enjoy reading it. 7. Are you afraid of no ghosts?
