The Development of Ukrainian CultureDate: 2015-10-07; view: 478. The origin of Ukrainian culture dates back to the period of the of formation Ukrainian nation and its language. Ukrainian culture is rich in national traditions. It should be mentioned Ukrainian folk carols and shchedrivkasas an example of the whole calender-ritual cycle in Ukraine. Every nation has its own luminaries, who cannot fall in oblivion. Among such giants of Ukrainian national culture, .political thought and action of the past two centuries are Hrihoriy Skovoroda, Taras Schevchenko, Ivan Franko and Mykhailo Hrushevsky. All of them belonged to a revolutionary part of Ukrainian intellgentsia, which never limited its activity to national problems alone. They well realized the need of struggling for the country's national liberation and tried to contribute to the people's liberation, as well. Their works made a valuable contribution to the development of Ukrainian literature, history, education, and art. Some words from the history of Ukrainian music and theatre. The systematical development of musical education in Ukraine began in the I9th century with the opening of a music school in Kiev in 1868. Conservatories were opened in Kiev and Odessa in 1913. The music and drama school founded in Kiev in 1904 by Lysenko, and the first Ukrainian music school in Lviv, which after a year became the M.Lysenko Music Institute, played\ important part in the training of national musicians. The geniuses of Marko Kropivnytsky, Ivan Karpenko-Kary, Mikyhailo Staritsky, Maria Zankovetska, Mykola Sadovsky, Panas Saksahansky, and others flourished in theatrical art. Contemporary Ukrainian writers, poets, composers, singers, ballet masters, actors continue the traditions of our classics and created works in all genres of literature, music, dance and art. Among them are Olexander Dovshenko, Pavlo Tychyna, Maxim Bylsky, Volodimir Sosyura, Oles Honchar, Ivan Drach, Xevdokia Kolesnyk, Marichka Stefiuk, Ada Rogovseva, Bogdan Stupka and others. Ukraine is famous for its museums and art galleries which occupy an important place in the cultural life of our country. They have fine collections of paintings by masters of different times. The Lavra Monastery, St Sofia Cathedrals, the monument to St. Vladimir, the Uman park and many other are the masterpieces of fine art. The achievements in science, education, culture and art are known all over the world. Nowadays, one of the important tasks of Ukrainian cultural policy is the support of the exchange of cultural values between other countries and peoples. We can say that the Ukrainian international cultural contacts are broader and more varied today than ever before. International cultural exchange is intensifying and becoming more fruitful.. Now Ukraine maintains cultural contacts in various forms with many countries of all continents. The best work of composers and dramatists of Ukraine and other countries are exchanged. Representatives of amateur art are taking an active part in the exchange of cultural values between countries. More and more gifted young people from foreign countries study at Ukrainian educational establishments of culture and arts. The two-way exchange takes place at a high artistic level. Foreign stage directors, artists and musicians stage shows in Ukraine. We want to show abroad the achievements of our culture at its best. Representatives of Ukrainian culture and art take an active part in international congresses, conferences and symposiums. Many meeting of this kind are conducted in our country. The road to our country is always open to everybody who brings real art and real cultural values.
