Literary works make up the opposition to articles of various types. In terms of Stylistics articles of various types are usually described as belonging to either publicistic or newspaper style which are differentiated according to the aim in communication. Literary works and articles of various types make up opposition on the basis of the linguistic means used. For the articles the argumentation, reasoning, logical assumption is more prominent. If the extracts of literature keep the attention of the reader by the development of the plot, articles give much more prominence to presenting unknown data; interesting facts putting emphasis on the rational qualities of the reader, his constant strive for knowledge. That is why lexical units with considerable emotive charge, various types of connotation are not frequent in articles. Usually lexis of articles belongs to the so called conceptual fields. Conceptual fields are groupings of lexical units that are the result of complex sense-relations between words. They are closely connected with the so-called mental lexicon – representation of lexical knowledge in the mind. Thus, articles are aimed at the development of the rational in a human being which is achieved through adequate usage of lexical and syntactic means. One of the requirements of any article is to be as explicit as possible so as to form correct and direct relations of a person with the outer world through the language.
