Ex. 1 Use the verb be in the Past Simple (was / were)

1. She … a student ten year ago. 2. Her parents … at home yesterday. 3. My brother … a doctor. 4. We … not at home yesterday. 5. I … a student two years ago. 6. … his children at school yesterday? 7. … they in Kiev last year? 8. Her aunt … an engineer. 9. … he at work two days ago? 10. The weather … nice last week. 11. … your friend in the park yesterday? 12. Their children … hungry. 13. Our father … fifty years old last year. 14. Ex. 2 Rewrite the sentences using Past Simple

Examples:

1) He cleans the room every week. – He cleaned the room last night.

2) He doesn't play the piano every day. – He didn'tplay the piano yesterday.

3) Does it often snow? – Did it often snow?

 

1. My grandmother doesn't work. She is on pension. 2. Where does your cousin work? – He works at a hospital. 3. Who usually dictates new words? 4. Doesn't she help her mother every day? 5. Ex. 3 Open the brackets using Past Simple
