1. He was writing an English exercise at this time yesterday. 2. My little sister was not sleeping at this time yesterday. 3. Were you drinking tea at this time yesterday? 4. My friends were not doing their homework at seven o'clock yesterday. 5. She was reading the whole evening yesterday. 6. The police caught Dan when he was robbing a shop. 7. What were you doing between one and two? I phoned you seven times. 8. I was not playing the piano when my mother came home. 9. When I got up that morning, the sun was shining brightly and the birds were singing. 10. When you rang me yesterday, I was having a bath. 11. Somebody stole the money from Dad's pocket while he was sleeping. 12. I was sitting by the window when I heard the noise. 13. At six o'clock I was waiting for Jennie at the station. 14. - What was he doing the whole evening yesterday? - He was reading a book. 15. Was she cooking the whole day yesterday? 16. They were playing computer games at five o'clock yesterday.

While Angela was washing her hair, Phil was making coffee in the kitchen. 10. George put his case into the boot, got into the car and started the engine. 11. I was waiting for a bus at the bus stop when it started to rain.

The fire destroyed half of the forest in our region last month. 12. A year ago Tom was not old enough to get a driving licence. 13. When did the accident happen? 14. Amanda and Dolly were preparing for the party all day yesterday. 14. Helen was watching the news on TV at 8 o'clock yesterday. 15. Mother is baking a cake at the moment. She needs some apples for it. 16. John often sends e-mails to his friends. 17. Paul is writing an e-mail to his friend right now. 18. She usually comes to the office at 9 o'clock. 19.
