Hi Angie,

How are you? I've had a very busy week here. My daughter Tracy succeeded getting to the finals of the school athletics championship last week, but she pulled a muscle at the last minute and it prevented her running in the final race. I insisted calling the doctor and she explained Tracy that she had to rest her leg. So I talked the coach it, who approved our decision. Tracy was so disappointed. She felt they had been relying her to win and, of course, she thought they all blamed her losing the match. She stayed home for a few days and then went back to school. I think she feels OK about it now, although she complained it a lot at the time! Anyway, please write me soon and tell me what's happening with you. I'd love to hear your news.

Love,
Rosie

Dear Andy,

I've been thinking for about going to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships this year. Do you feel like for coming with me? I ran into over an old friend of mine the other day and she said she would look into up getting some tickets for us from her boss. Otherwise, you know we'd have to wait for with ages in a queue and they often sell out. Let's go to for a coffee some time next week and we can talk about to it. I'm really overworked at the moment. I don't know how I'm going to get about through the week! I'll have to work all weekend. My friend says she wouldn't stand after for it, but I suppose I'm too conscientious. I just don't believe for in making trouble.

See you soon,
Emily

If you're visiting the coastal areas of southern or western Australia and you see a 'dugite', don't go near it, or something pretty bad may happen to with of for across you. This snake looks similar with to across for of less poisonous species but you definitely don't want to get bitten by it.

It's also possible you could come for to with across of one when you are walking on a quiet path in the countryside areas known as 'the Bush'. Dugites are brown, green or grey in colour and grow up to two metres in length, although the young ones might be just 15 centimetres.

If you get bitten, the first reaction for of across to with a bite is that you'll feel short with for to of across breath and have chest pains. Later effects are much worse, so it is best to go straight to a hospital, where they can provide you with to across for of the necessary treatment. These snake bites can be the cause to for across of with death for the very young, old or weak if they are not dealt of for with to across quickly.

Don't worry if you're afraid to of across for with snakes, though. Dugites are fairly uncommon and it is unusual to hear for to with across of attacks on humans. So make the most with across to of for your time in Australia. Just remember, it is best to be kind across for with to of animals, and don't blame them for to across of with their natural behaviour. They are protected by the 1950 Wildlife Act and if you injure or kill one you run the risk of to for across with getting a $4,000 fine.

Key aspects:

1) About Language Learning

2) Student Talking Time

3) Interaction pattern

4) Great Teacher for Students

5) Talkative and/or Disruptive Students

6) Quiet Students

Introduction

One of the most difficult tasks for English teachers is to make students speak and to help them to increase the time of their speaking. When students reach an advanced level they are, by definition, highly proficient language users. As a result, they typically feel very positive about the language and their classes, but it can be hard to make them feel they are actually improving their English. We strongly believe that advanced learners are best motivated by a strong focus on lexis, both in terms of expanding their knowledge of phrases, idioms, and collocation and in developing an awareness of levels of formality and informality register.

The objectives

By the end of the lesson you should:

1) establish contact with the audience (classmates, teacher(s))

2) improve language skills

3) avoid embarrassment during a conversation

4) be able to use a wide range of structures to express different concepts

5) be able to use more sophisticated grammar structures with fluency

6) up-to-date, stimulating topics to get them talking and exchanging opinions

7) improve accuracy as well as further developing their fluency

8) regular exposure to authentic and colloquial spoken language

9) practice in guessing the meaning of unknown lexis

About Language Learning

I don't like the hearing the language – I realer need to see. .it written too.
The spark

I don't like learning grammar – it's boring and it confuses me.
I like to go to the foreign country and talk, talk, talk – mistakes and all.

I like to talk first with other students who are trying to learn like me.
I just like to hear the foreign language for a long time before I speak.
I hate it when people correct my mistakes.

Draw two more bubbles and write in them two other statements about the way in which you like or dislike learning languages. Then compare your answers with a partner.
