Listening.

You're going to watch a video ‘What are the qualities of a good teacher? '.

a. One word to describe great teachers

b. Why do I teach?

c. My favorite teacher

d. What qualities make a great teacher?

1. In groups, discuss what you think the pupils and teachers will say in each section.

2. Now listen to the video and see if you were right. Note down any points you didn't predict; listen a second time if necessary. Are any of them particularly surprising or interesting for you?

Now listen again and make a list of at least 5 adjectives and 5 nouns that are used to describe teachers and teaching and complete the table below. Focus on those you are less familiar with. NB it may not be possible to complete all of the table for all of the words.

Work in groups and do two posters. One should be devoted to the qualities that make a great teacher, another one – to reasons to teach.

Speaking.

A positive classroom environment yields positive students who are motivated to learn. That's why students mentioned possibility to create a positive atmosphere as a quality of a great teacher. Make a mind map in groups devoted to the components of ‘positive classroom atmosphere'. Present a cluster, defend your point of view
