Watch the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” and do the following tasks:

1. Find as many examples of ethnocentrism in the movie as you can. Why do you think Toula's and Ian's parents are so ethnocentric?

2. Combine all information from the movie about American and Greek culture in the table. Find similarities and differences. Add a column about Russian culture from your own experience.

Assessment:

Do a group or individual project on causes, symptoms and effects of culture shock. Explain the notions of cultural iceberg, cultural stereotypes, ethnocentricity, adaptation and assimilation.

Make a PowerPoint presentation on how to cope with cultural differences when communicating with people from different cultures.

Do a project and show its results in a PPT presentation.
