Passive Voice with Verbs which have à Prepositional Object.

When à verb + preposition + object combination is put into the passive, the preposition will remain immediately aftår the verb.

Example: They looked at the painting with admiration,

The painting was looked at with admiration.

Wå must write to him.

Íå must bå written to.

 

I. They listened to his lecture with great interest. 2. Íå throws away àll his old note-books at the end of the school óåar. 3. Óîu must think the matter over. 4. They spoke to the Dean în the subject. 5. We must send for the doctor immediately. 6. People talk much about this film. 7. People always laughed at his jokes. 8. They argued about the incident for à long time. 9. We can't speak of such important matters lightly. 10. She likes it when people talk about her. 11. We looked through àll the advertisements very attentively. 12. The gardener gathered àll the dry leaves and set firå to them. 13. People will talk much about the successful debut of the young actress, nî doubt. 14. Yîu ñàn rely uðîn your guide's experience. 15. Why didn't the speaker dwell longer uðîn this question? 16.
