Vocabulary

to reserve (to book) a room - заказать комнату

to stay (to put up) at – останавливаться (располагаться на проживание)

to check (to sign) out / in - выписаться / зарегистрироваться

twin/single room - комната на двоих/одного

a room for one night - комната на одну ночь

suite [swi:t] - люкс

to complete (to fill in) the form – заполнить бланк

bill (check) - счет

to put signature - поставить подпись

Arriving at a hotel a guest speaks to the reception clerk first.

Filling in the arrival card a visitor writes down some information about himself.

Signing out the visitor should pay for his stay at the hotel.

I'd like a single room overlooking the sea with a bath.

I'd like a double room on the third floor overlooking the Thames.

I'd like a double room overlooking the hills with a bath.

I'd like a quiet single room on the fifth floor.

I'd like a suite (with TV) on the first floor overlooking the lake.

A hotel worker who stands by the door and helps visitors to get out of the car is called a porter or a doorman.

A hotel worker who receives new guests and gives them accommodation (a room) doing all the formalities is called a reception clerk or receptionist.

A hotel worker who keeps bedrooms in order and does some laun­dry for the guests is called a maid or a chambermaid.

A hotel worker who gives and receives the keys is called a desk-clerk.
