Typist initials

Typist initials are used to indicate the person who typed the letter. If you typed the letter yourself, omit the typist initials.

2. Date line: The date (month, day, year); starts 3 lines

below letterhead.

 

3. Reference line: The initials of the person dictating the letter, those of the typist and /or other letters or numbers needed for filing or classification.

 

4. Address: The name, position, firm and address of the person to whom you are writing.

 

5. Attention: It is part of the address and is typed 2 spaces below the last line of the address.

 

6. Salutation: An opening greeting.

 

7. Subject: Indicates what the letter is about.

 

8. Message: The text of the letter: paragraphs are typed single-spaced; double space between paragraphs.

 

9. Complimentary A parting phrase.

10. Company name: Emphasizing that the writer is acting on behalf of the company; +4 lines for signature.

 

11. Writer's The signer's name and title.
