It has stopped to be domestic and is rapidly becoming international. In the light of it executives and managers who can operate effectively across cultures and national borders are becoming invaluable players in the global business arena. Global selection systems enable a company to find the best person anywhere in the world for a given position. Applicants are measured according to a group of 12 character attributes. These twelve categories are: motivations, expectations, open-mindedness, respect for other beliefs, trust in people, tolerance, personal control, flexibility, patience, social adaptability, initiative, risk-taking, sense of humour, interpersonal interest, spouse communication. An effective international executive also displays a combination of desirable personal qualities such as adaptability, independence, leadership and charisma. 7. The knowledge international leaders should possess can bedefined as “hard” skill and “soft” skill. Hard skills are very susceptible to formal education and training approaches. These include an understanding of the global economy and foreign business systems, international marketing, international financial management, political risk analysis and the ability to analyze and develop sophisticated global strategies. We can also point to some “soft” skill areas such as communication, leadership, motivation, decision-making, team-building and negotiation where research indicates that national cultural differences can have important effects. International managers need at least to be aware of some of the issues involved. They need, furthermore, not only to be aware of how foreign cultures affect organizational behaviour and management style, but also to understand how their own culture affects their own style. In conclusion I should say that there are many factors that make management. But the main one that we must pay attention to is a manager, a good manager! A good manager is a manager you want to work for. He is a person who has an understanding of what the employee wants from work. It will give a better chance of having more satisfied, more productive and what is most important it provides more motivated workers. And this is a keystone to success.
