Teens and money

So, you can't afford to go out with your friends, and you can't borrow any more money from your parents and you even owe money to your little brother. You need to get a job and earn some money! Don't worry, there are many jobs you can find or create. Here are just some ideas...

When your neighbours go on holiday, you can take care of their cat or dog or whatever pet they have. You give the animals food and exercise. Also, many people work long hours and they will pay you to visit their pets during the day and take them for a walk.

Some teens say they earn between five and twenty euros an hour tutoring. Are you good at a subject, for example, Maths or English? Then you can earn money by helping others understand it too.

Do you hate working inside? Don't worry - find out if there's a job in a park near your house. Often parks employ young people to collect litter or help with cutting the grass and looking after plants. You can cut the grass or clear the snow for your neighbours, too.

Working in a shop can be fun - and you can save money too. Some shops often give employees 20-30 percent discount on clothes and other things, so when you buy things from the shop it's cheaper for you.

Are you good with computers? Could you learn to create well-organised websites? Yes? Then you can make a lot of money! Some businesses pay you to create and look after their websites - doing things like adding new information and solving problems on the websites.
