Past Continuous Tense is used:
  rules examples
1. to express an action going on at a definite time in the past He was preparing for negotiations when the phone rang.
2. to express an action in its progress going on at a definite period of time in the past In the summer of 2000 our compa­ny was selling as many pro­ducts as Ukrainian Forest Products Corporation.

Future Continuous Tense is used:

1. to express an action going on at a definite moment or during a defi­nite period of time in the future We will be discussing their policy all afternoon.

Present Perfect Tense is used:

1. to express an action which took place before the present moment and the speaker wishes to empha­sise the present result of this action As far as I know the vice-president has prepared all the necessary documents.
2. to express an action which began before the present action and continued up to it I have known him as a skilled manager for years.

Past Perfect Tense is used:

1. to express an action which took place before another past action or before a definite moment in the past When he came, the book­keeper had prepared the financial report.
2. to express an action which began before a definite mo­ment in the past and continued up to that moment She had worked in this com­pany before 1995.
