XII. Studying at the Academy.

I'm a student of Pskov Brunch of the International Academy of Tourism. I'm a Freshman (student of the first college year).

The Academy is situated in Gagarina Street not far from the center of the town. It is not supported by the state so the tuition charges are about 30.000 rubles. There are two departments: the day-time department and extra-mural department. The students of the Academy major in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management and Human resources. Apart from major subjects the students follow courses in History, Philosophy, Foreign languages, Maths and Information Technology. Sport classes are also compulsory.

The academic year lasts from September till June and is divided into terms each ending in examination session. Usually students have 3-4 classes every day: lectures, seminars, classes. During every session students take credit tests and exams. This time they attend consultations and revise for exams.

Senior students write course papers and have practice. Some of them have practice abroad.

Some students carry out research and take part in the scientific conferences.

Students' recreation is usually connected with different parties and dances. They spend their leisure reading books, walking, going to the cinema, concerts, watching TV, doing sport.
