Ex.1. Complete this conversation with the verbs inThe Present Simple Tense or The Present Continuous Tense. They may be affirmative, negative or interrogative. Some of them are used several times:

Peter: Hello, Jane. This is Peter. Is John in?

J.: Hello, Peter. No, he isn't in at the moment. He … football. In fact, he always … football on Friday afternoons.

Ex. 2. Open the brackets and put the verbs into the correct forms of either the Present Continuous Tense or the Present Simple Tense. Then translate into Russian:

Ex.6. Translate into English using the forms of the Present Simple Tense, the Present Continuous Tense, the Past Simple Tense:

1. Какие науки Вы можете назвать? – Я знаю, что есть физика и химия, математика, филология, философия, история и многие другие.

2. Физика изучает законы природы, не так ли?

3. Это – очень сложные машины и они состоят из множества компонентов.

4. Кто изобрел шариковую ручку? – Это был Джон Лоуд и это произошло в 1890 г.

5. Тяжелые объекты падают быстрее, чем легкие объекты, не так ли? – Да, это правда и это открыл великий греческий ученый Аристотель.

6. Что они сейчас делают? – Они готовятся в лаборатории к проверке некоторых важных данных.
