Business ethics involves: - ethical appraisal of a company internal and external policy; - moral principles of the staff; - morale in the organization; - norms of business etiquette. Business ethics is based on transparency, integrity, consistency, law abidance and business skills. 2) Code of ethics – a written guide to acceptable and ethical behavior (as defined by an organization) that outline punishments for violations. 3) Code of good practice– a set of rules that are accepted and used by a company staff. It contains a list of standard and practical recommendations on performing a certain activity. 4) Mission statement – a written declaration of a firm's core purpose and focus which normally remains unchanged whereas business strategies and practices may frequently be altered to adapt to the changing circumstances. Properly crafted mission statements perform 3 main functions: 1. They serve as filters to separate what is important from what is not; 2. They clearly state which markets will be served and how; 3. They communicate a sense of intended direction to the entire organization.
