Private tutor has to teach children or grown-ups, devise individual learning, programs, tasks, systems of exercises, creating communicative situations, selecting video, photo and audio material.

This job demands teaching skills, communicative skills, philological education, work experience, patience and creativity.

The advantages of this job are: flexible working hours, free time, working with one person (there are no problems with discipline) and a good extra income.

But sometimes private tutor has to work with people, who he can hardly get on with.

 

A competent translator should have a very good knowledge of the languages (written and spoken) from which and into which he translates, a profound understanding of the etymological and idiomatic correlates between two languages. This person also needs to understand the subject matter of the text. Moreover, he should be not only bilingual, but also bicultural.

This job requires good writing skills, language knowledge and good technical-terminology skills.

 

Interpreters facilitate the cross-cultural communication by converting one language into another. These people do more than just translate words – they relay concepts and ideas between languages. They should thoroughly understand the subject matter in order to convey information accurately from one language to another.

Such job requires knowing at least two languages, having analytical skills and exceptional memory.

It's a well paid job and these people have an opportunity to travel and communicate with interesting people. However, it is very stressful occupation.
