Film translator

A film translator has to translate movies, choose the correct words with similar articulation, correct texts and make a stylistic editing.

This job requires philological education, work experience, creativity, patience and attention, knowledge of dialects and slang.

This job will be good for creative people, who want to have flexible working hours or even work at home. They will receive an opportunity to see the results of their job on big screen, to watch the latest films, receive language training. It's also a well-paid job.

As to disadvantages, I can tell, that it's difficult to understand and translate the dialect or accent. Sometimes films can be very dull. Moreover, these people are always under the deadline pressure.

Copy editors are the backbone of any publication. They have to find and correct mistakes in style, punctuation, and grammar in text in order to make it perfect. Copy editors possess excellent editing, writing and grammatical skills. They are the last people who see an article before publication.

This kind of job requires not only good language skills, but also the ability to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure and function as a team member.

As to the advantages, it can be mentioned, that this job could be a first step in career, because it doesn't require work experience. However, it's not a well-paid job, but it involves working long hours.

To sum up, I'd like to tell, that there is a great variety of jobs, that could be interesting for philologists. All of them require good language knowledge and communication skills, which are the most important for philologists.
