Chapter VDate: 2015-10-07; view: 547. Trevor woke up early in the morning. He slept a little bit too much. He had a weird dream about Leroy. Anyway, he made up his mind and decided to dig. And so he did. Very soon the shovel hit upon something hard. But it was merely a rock. He dug for quite a long time. His physical form used to be so much better when he was young! Oh, he never wanted any of this. This box stole his youth, stole his life. But at least now he has nothing to lose. Finally he unearthed the box. It was there, it was truly there! It was hard to believe it, almost impossible, really. He threw away the shovel and carefully picked up the box. His palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms were heavy... Once again, he hesitated for a moment. And then he opened it. Inside was a note. Trevor's heart stopped for a second there, before going back to beating with twice the usual rate. Could it be a treasure map? Some secret document? An answer to a worldly mystery? Richard's mom's spaghetti recipe? Or maybr Geoffrey has already dug up the treasure and left this just to mock him? Any of these would satisfy Trevor. However, the note read: To Trevor, my dearest accomplice. If you are reading this, I must be somewhat dead right now. I believe I must apologize for the fact that I've probably disappointed you with the contents of the box. You see, it was never about the contents. Like I said to you twenty years ago, it's all about the adventure. Just think about the story we've made, you and me! Well, maybe me, mostly. Anyway, you rock. The story needed a main character, and I don't like to play that role. You, on the other hand, were perfect. I do indeed hope you'll have better luck next time. I think I'll see you around. Just joking, I probably won't. Because I'm, you know, dead. Love, you best friend forever, XOXOXO Leroy. P.S.: Also, you'd better look out. Geoffrey is, like, totally standing behind you right now. Trevor turned around only to see Geoffrey's fist closing in on his face. Two of his teeth immediately flew out of his mouth in the most epic slow-motion shot possible. Trevor retaliated, striking Geoffrey with his fist between the ribs. Unfortunately, that didn't have much effect. Geoffrey picked up the shovel, swung it over his head and struck a terrible blow at Trevor's head, instantly knocking him out. - What is it with you being so easily knocked out? - Geoffrey asked his unconscious ex-accomplice and struck the last finishing blow against Trevor. Moments later, he felt a sting in his chest. He fell on the ground, beating in convulsions. Perhaps he got a little bit too excited about his newfound treasure. Well, he surely didn't plan for a heart attack. And suddenly, there was bacon falling around.
