My Future Job

Network industry deals with all kinds of communication means, technologies and techniques in radio engineering, telephony, computer science and computer engineering.

I will be qualified as an engineer in the network industry. My future responsibilities include exploitation, maintenance and servicing of the company equipment and facilities as well as Research and Development. In my case it is Fiber Optics Technology (Radio Communication, Radio and Television Broadcasting, Communication with Mobile Objects, Audio and Visual Technology, Multi Channel Telecommunication Systems, Communication Networks and Commutation Systems, Radio Appliances, Software Development, Computer Hardware).

In both areas I must know the company activity, the prospects of its expansion and technical development. I must understand how its facilities and equipment operate, how to install, maintain and service them. My future job is to ensure its reliable functioning, to eliminate all possible faults and defects. I will have to provide assistance and support to customers in timely repairing of the breakages.

Most of the equipment and technologies used in Russia are of foreign make. English is an important part of my job because manuals and descriptions of technologies are provided in English. In addition, I have to be aware of the latest trends in the network industry.

Research and Development is an embedded part of my job. I will have to adapt existing technologies to specific market conditions and to develop original projects meeting customer demands.

To succeed, I have to know systems and methods of development. I must be aware of the features of the latest foreign equipment and technologies I will have to develop.

I must apply automation methods for the development and technical computations. Application of the up-to-date software and hardware in the development works is a must.

To reach success in such quickly changing area as network industry I must be well prepared for my future job. All the subjects that we study at the Institute lay the foundation for it. So, to become a good engineer I must be a good student.
