Incoterms are a set of international rules for the interpretation of the most commonly used trade terms. There are 11 main terms. These denote the points at which the shipper's, carrier's and consignee's risk and responsibility start and end and who pays for the transportation up to which point. Incoterms are amended(корректируются) and have been revised (пересматривались) in the year 2010. Incoterms are recognized globally by courts and other authorities. Frequently, parties to a contract are unaware (не знакомы) of the different trading practices in their respective countries. This lack of knowledge can lead to (привести) misunderstandings and disputes between customer (клиентом) and supplier (поставщиком). The incorporation of Incoterms in international sales contracts reduces (снижает) this risk.
