- Mainly western winds are blowing. The ground is covered with snow in winter. Icebergs are floating in the southern oceans.

Regions of temperate climate: 5-A – continental, 5-Á – temperate-continental, 5-B –marine, 5-Ã – monsoon

 

Sub-Arctic and Sub-Antarctic Climate Zones

- Temperate air masses are moving in summer. Arctic and Antarctic air masses are moving in winter. The seasonal fluctuations of temperature are very great. Permafrost of the soil is distributed all over the continents. Icebergs are floating in the oceans.

6-A – sub-arctic climate, 6-Á – sub-Antarctic climate with cool humid summer and cold winter
