Exercise 2. Learn some rules of writing a resume and fill in the gaps.

Writing a (1) resume depends on many factors. CV - Curriculum Vitae - is a (2) of academic and professional history and achieve­ments. Here is a simple guide to the basics of writing a good resume (CV):

1. Include an (3) for the resume. It is a short sentence describing what type of work you hope to (4).

2. Write your (5) name, address, telephone number, fax and (6) at the top of the resume.

3. Take detailed notes on your work (7). Employers want to know exactly what you did and how well you (8) your tasks. Include both paid and unpaid, (9) time and part time positions. Include your main responsibilities, any other activities that were a part of the job, the (10) title and the infor­mation about the company, the dates of (11).

4. Take detailed notes on your education. Include (12), school names and courses.

5. Include a list of other non-work related accomplishments. These may include (13) won, (14) in special organizations, etc.

Be short! Your finished resume should not be more than a page. Use dynamic action verbs such as: accomplished, collaborated, (19), established, facilitated, founded, managed, etc.

Do NOT use the subject "I", use tenses in the past, except for your (20) job.
