Types of resorption of the temporary teeth roots ( after Vinogradova)

Development of the temporary teeth (after W.Kunzel)

The main stages of extramaxillary development of the temporary teeth.

1.Eruption.

2. Formation of the root and periodontium.

3. Stabilization.

4. Resorption.

Teeth Initiation of crown mineralization Period of eruption Completion of root formation Initiation of root resorption
I The 5th month of embr.dev. 6-8 months 1,5 - 2 years 4 years
II The 5th month of embr.dev. 8-12 months 2 years 5 years
III The 6th month of embr.dev. 16-20 months 4,5 – 5 years 8 years
IV The 5th month of embr.dev. 12-16 months 3,5 – 4 years 6,5 - 7 years
V The 6th month of embr.dev. 20-30 months 4,5-5 years 7,5 – 8 years

1. Pathological.

2. Physiological: homogenous, heterogenous, resorption by bifurcation.

In the process of development and formation of permanent teeth we determine such 4 periods:

1. Period of intramaxillary development.

2. Eruption.

3. Formation and growth or roots and periodontium.

4. Stabilization.
