Devital amputation

Date: 2015-10-07; view: 669.

Is used for the temporary teeth at the resorption period or immature root period. The indications are: 1) chronic fibrous pulpitis; 2) acute traumatic pulpitis (unexpected disclosure of the pulp horn during the carious cavity preparation); 3)acute serous diffuse pulpitis; 4) chronic hypertrophic pulpitis.

In the permanent teeth devital amputation may be used at the stage of incomplete root growth just as a method of temporary treatment. After the complete root formation it is necessary to perform endodontic treatment. This method may also be used in cases when we can't apply vital amputation for some reasons( allergic reaction for the anesthetics, inadequate psychoemotional condition of the child, etc).

The indications for the devital amputation on the immature root formation stage are: 1) chronic fibrous and hypertrophic pulpitis; 2) acute traumatic pulpitis at considerable denudation of the pulp, also if it is more than 6 hours since the trauma moment; 3) acute serous diffuse pulpitis at absent expressed perifocal reaction from the periodontium.

Devital extirpation

is administered predominantly in the permanent teeth at the stage of mature root.

The indications are: 1)acute serous local and diffuse pulpitis; 2) chronic fibrous and hypertrophic pulpitis, 3)pulpitis, complicated with periodontitis.

In the permanent teeth with incomplete root growth the indications for devital extirpation are the same as for the immature root period.

The method of devital extirpation is commonly used for the temporary teeth treatment, especially on the root stabilization stage. Indications: all forms of acute (acute serous diffuse pulpitis, acute traumatic pulpitis, acute purulent pulpitis), chronic hypertrophic pulpitis and gangrenous pulpitis.
