Vital amputation

It is often used for the permanent teeth on the stage of immature root, and it provides for preservation of the root pulp functional activity and provision of the physiological root formation:

Indications: 1) acute traumatic pulpitis in cases when the pulp is denuded considerably, also if it is more than 6 hours since the trauma moment; 2) acute serous local pulpitis; 3) acute serous diffuse pulpitis at absence of expressed reaction from the periodontium (slightly painful percussion слабо); 4) in cases when the biological method is contraindicated or has proven to be ineffective; 5) at chronic fibrous (as a temporary treatment method) pulpitis. This method is rarely used in the temporary teeth. It may be used for the oral cavity sanitation under the general anesthesia.

Is used for the temporary teeth on the stage of mature root. It may be used for treatment of the permanent teeth with immature root for: 1) chronic gangrenous and hypertrophic pulpitis; 2)pulpitis accompanied by expressed perifocal or focal reaction form the periodontium; 3) acute purulent and chronic gangrenous pulpitis. The indications for application of this method in the permanent teeth with mature root are all forms of acute and chronic pulpitis as well as pulpitis, complicated with focal periodontitis. As for the temporary teeth, as a rule, this method is applied for the treatment under the general anesthesia. The contraindications for this are the same forms of pulpitis which were mentioned referring to the permanent teeth.
