Ex.1. There are some passive constructions in each of the sentences. State the forms of the verbs in them. Translate the sentences into Russian paying attention to the use of the Passive Voice constructions:

Ex.3. Make the sentences passive. Useby only if it's really necessary to say who or what is the actor (действующее лицо):

1. Scientists often asked and ask questions to learn about the natural world.

2. Scientists usually earn new information about the natural world by performing investigations.

Ex.4. Translate into English using the appropriate forms of the Passive Voice:

1. Земной шар поделен на 24 часовых пояса.

2. Теория относительности была сформулирована около 90 лет назад великим физиком и мыслителем Альбертом Эйнштейном.

3. Метод подсчета времени был изобретен в Китае, не так ли? – Нет, этот метод был придуман в Вавилоне примерно в 3000 году до нашей эры.

4. После того как все полученные данные были тщательно проанализированы, астрономы продолжили свои важные эксперименты.

5. О нулевом меридиане как точке отсчета распространенной во всем мире системы измерения времени написано много статей и книг.

6. В России был недавно отменен закон о переходе на «летнее время», не так ли? – Да , его отменили в 2011 году.

7. Доклад профессора Петрова будет посвящен всемирному координированному времени.

8. Когда были установлены часовые пояса?

9. Полученные только на прошлой неделе данные уже изучены, не так ли? – Да, их изучили вчера.
