Ghost stories were very popular in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th. Charles Dickens and Edgar Allen Poe were some of the greatest practitioners of the genre. Oscar Wilde was the first to use a ghost as a funny character in his ‘Centerville ghost'. In the 20th century people tried to make fun of this genre, so humorous interpretations of this mysterious topic became quite successful. Here are 3 examples which are now part of the world pop culture. Use the Internet search engines and find several interesting facts about them (pictures/presentations/video will be a welcome addition). - Casper, the friendly ghost (literature/cartoons/cinema). - Ghost busters (cinema/cartoons/song) -Beetle juice (cinema).
