Good: create jobs, help the economic development of local communities, develop tourist facilities, launch nature conservation programmes.
Bad: damage the environment, create a lot of pollution, money from tourism goes outside the area, local people are not paid fair wages.
Leave rubbish after picnics, not put out fire, cause a big fire in the forest, drop litter on the streets, tourists' influx damages the wildlife habitat and scares away animals and birds.
National parks, nature reserves, natural habitat, nature-based tours, community projects, local inhabitants, endangered species.
Parks in the city for children, retired people, young mothers with little children.
Friendly, helpful people, easy to get on with, tolerant, avoid arguments, the Wai greeting, never touch someone's head, never point your feet towards someone. Royalty is the most respected institution. Then comes monkhood.
Simple precautions are required. Insect repellents and basic medicines, drink a lot of bottled water, avoid sun and take plenty of rest.
